    CURRICULUM

    Dr. Galeano is the Director General of the National Defense Postgraduate School. He is a lawyer and notary public, and holds a Master in Political Sciences and in National Defense. He is a graduate of the Center for Integrated Social Development of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Buenos Aires, Argentina (1970), of the Chilean Institute for Law Teaching and Research (1972), and of the National Army Command and Staff College (1990). He has taken courses in Economic Policy, University of Chile (1972); Political Sociology, University of Chile (1972); Crisis Control for High Ranking Personnel, U.S. Department of State, Washington (1966); Strategic Studies, Brazil (1997), and Sustainable Policies, Punta del Este, Uruguay (1997).
    His teaching experience includes his participation in the following institutions: Universidad Nacional de Asunción (UNA), Universidad Católica de Asunción, National Army Command and Staff College, Police Higher School, Navy Command and Staff School, and the Air Force Command and Staff School.
    As regards university administrative functions, he acted as Secretary General of the Law School of the Asunción National University; Secretary to the Law School Administration Board (UNA); Dean of the Law, Social and Political Sciences School of the Asunción Autonomous University; Dean of the Law and Social Sciences School of the University of the Pacific, and Vice-Rector of the University of the Pacific.
    He has held many positions in the public sphere.
    The Law School of the Asunción National University awarded him a gold medal as the best graduate in 1968; he also received a gold medal from the Francisco Solano López Military Academy, and a medal from the Brazilian Army (Orden del Pacificador).
    His professional work was the subject of the film "La Lucha de un Hombre" (A Man´s Struggle), based on the defense of the "Filártiga Case".
